Hi, my name is Sarah Raven. I am currently a junior at College Of Saint Mary. I am studying to be an elementary education teacher. I work as a para at Loveland Elementary School where I work with 5th and 6th graders with mild to moderate disabilities. Working with these children has taught me so much about myself and I know that I am headed in the right direction. My dream job is to become a elementary school teacher. I attended Westside Community Schools for elementary school and middle school. I continued on to Mercy High School after 8th grade. It was in the fifth grade when I learned my passion for teaching. My 5th grade teacher, who was also my swim coach at the time, was the most caring, motivating and biggest inspiration to me as far schooling went. When I had troubles with math, she tutored me after school. If I had home problems, she was there to listen, even if I was not looking for advice, she would sit down and listen to me. Mrs. Kratky was the teacher who made me feel that there was hope for my education and for my future as an educator. I may have been just a fourth grader, but at that time it meant the world to me that she took me under her wing and really made me feel that I could excel in school as long as I believe in myself.
